In this exercise, you will examine your congruence and the fulfillment of your life using the logical levels. You can do this exercise independently without assistance by listening to the audio recording below. First, I will give you a brief explanation of how to get the most benefit from this exercise.
Instruction
- First, read Chapter I.3 of the book about logical levels so you understand how the model works.
- Then, create paper cards by writing the name of each level. You will end up with six cards with the words: environment, behavior, capabilities, values/beliefs, identity, and mission.
- Lay these cards on the ground (in a comfortable, spacious area) in the correct order with a small step between each one. Pay close attention to the direction that feels best for their placement.
- Grab a notebook and a pen and have them ready to use later.
- Ensure you have twenty minutes of uninterrupted time to complete the exercise.
- The exercise guides you from your current work environment through the behavior you exhibit at work up to the higher logical levels (mission, spirituality). From there, you turn around and go through the steps in reverse order. This return journey is often different from the way up.
- When you have finished the exercise, write in your notebook what you noticed about the journey up and back, and what differed at each step. It would be beneficial to take a walk afterward to let the impact of the insights resonate in your body.
- When you listen to the audio clip, let my voice guide you. Know that it might sometimes feel too fast or too slow for you, and that some questions or statements might not apply to you. Just let those pass and follow your own train of thought. Good luck!
