In this exercise, you'll compile insights to broaden your perspective and navigate through challenges.
Instruction
- Find a tranquil spot and create a grid with nine squares, similar to the diagram provided. You might, for example, lay down four purple lines on the floor using tape. Pay attention to which direction you feel represents the future.
- Prepare a voice recorder on your smartphone to document the insights you gain during the exercise. If you're using your phone for both listening to the exercise instructions and recording, try to multitask with both applications. If this proves difficult, jotting down the advice in a notebook is an alternative, though speaking it aloud tends to be more impactful.
- Identify and articulate the challenge you're facing as a specific question. What question, if answered, would liberate you and clear away hurdles?
- Write this question down clearly and position it where it can be easily seen near your nine-square grid. Throughout the exercise, we'll refer to the "I-person" in the present tense, emphasizing your immediate, personal experience regarding the question at hand.
